Anywho... Malidoma. So he is describing his grandfather's funeral. True story. Non-fiction, ok?
First thing
His grandfather before he died was taken to missionary clinic away from his village, and he died there. SO his son put some amulet in his hand (hyena's tail or smth) said some words and dead grandfather GOT UP and WALKED for 4 miles to the village for a proper funeral.
Second thing
In preparation for the funeral special meal was to be made. Pots with boiling water and things were on the ceiling, upside down, NO GRAVITY!!! Pot UPSIDE DOWN with boiling water. No special effects movie - real life.
I'm still reading about funeral, and it is interesting how different cultures part with their people, how different are funerals. There funerals go for days with grief expressed very loudly. In my culture, where my parents are from, we had criers (I don't know how it is now), here... very proper and quiet. People grieve differently.

1 lbs frozen cherry
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tbsp of honey (or substitute it with something you can eat)
2 tbsp of cocoa powder
1 tbsp of vanilla sugar
1/4 tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking powder
2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of veg.oil
Put cherry to un-thaw in the bowl, then collect the juice. Then add some warm water to collected juice to get 1 cup of liquid.
Preheat oven to 350.
In the separate bowl mix oil, honey, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, add cherry juice, mix through.
Add cherry and flour, mix.
You can make it either as muffins or a pound cake. Bake it approximately 50 minutes. Cool down before take it out of the form,

How many "fool me" do you allow?
I understand forgiveness and compassion, but how many times do I have to turn my cheek?
How many times do I have to take a knife out of my back and forgive-forgive-forgive? Thinking to myself that people do not know any better...
But when it's your friends? What do you do then? I can and will forgive, but trust.... trust will not return

- As well as Latvian dark rye bread is absolutely the most delicious bread ever!!
